Yesterday when I was trying to add a post to Innit, I got this error message, something about not being a Glitterati member. As most of you should know by now after I wrote about my thoughts on Nuffnang, Innit is a Glitterati only feature. Well, I logged into my Nuffnang account and found out that I really had my Glitterati account status taken away from me, I was quite surprised.
Needless to say, I immediately reviewed what changes I had made to my blog recently. I concluded that as my Glitterati status was only recently revoked, it must have been something that I did on my blog recently. So on on the 7th of July, the only changes I made was firstly add a Pepperjam Network banner, a ReviewMe banner and another image link to some website selling magazines. These banners are actually not advertisements, they are more like affiliate banners. Anyway, I have since removed the ReviewMe banner, but I left the Pepperjam Network banner and the image banner there.
Anyway, seeing that the Glitterati status meant a lot to me as the I’m starting to find Innit rather useful
, I contacted Nuffnang with some questions and was quite delighted when they gave me such a quick reply (about 4 hours).
I sent them this:
Hello, I’m wondering how come I got pulled out from the Glitterati program just today. I know that Glitterati is an exclusive membership with bloggers without advertisements from any south east asia originating network, but as my site does not have any of them I really am puzzled. Also for your information, I only have one blog with Nuffnang, and is has been recieving traffic.
I haven’t taken out or added in any advertisements in recently too.
Please advice.
And they replied:
Hi David,
You’ve added in an ad unit that is from another blog advertising company based in Southeast Asia which conflicted your Glitterati status as our crawler read on 7-Jul-2008 06:53:27. Kindly remove the ad unit and your Glitterati status will be restored upon a few days.Cheers,

I replied them once more with this:
Hello, thanks for your prompt reply. It is much appreciated. If I’m not wrong, the only 3 things I added to my website yesterday was a banner by Pepperjam Network, Review Me, and another link to someones website. I have taken down review me banner. Could you please check my site and tell me whether I have any South East Asia originating advertisements.
And could you tell me what exactly are the networks that originate from South East Asia. And we’re allowed to mention them right? Just not allowed to put the advertisements up right?
This is my blog’s address http://www.drett.com, if you could be so kind as to help me check.
I realy want to get the Glitterati status back, so please advice me as whatever is neccessary.
Thanks.
I’m sure some of you can practically feel how desperate I am to get back my Glitterati status back. If you’re not yet a Glitterati member, I suggest you try it out especially the use of Innit, as I find it is a good source of traffic from Malaysia. ![]()

Drett recently has been undergoing some changes, some good some bad, some done with a purpose, some unknowingly.
.
I’m currently try to decide how to categorize my posts, whether I want to use sub-categories (which I’m still against), what categories I want on my blog and so forth. It’s kind of a big thing for me as I’m currently redesigning a new theme for Drett, and I need to know all these details so I can design with certain out-comes in mind. BTW, the template is on the drawing board, and when the new one comes out, I’ll be giving this template which I named experimental1 away for free, all I want in return is that you keep the backlinks.
The other major thing that might change without me wanting it to is the permalinks of the posts on this site. I’m using Windows Live Messenger to write out my posts and everything, and I recently found out that time I set for my posts to be published and my actual posting time has a few hours difference. Some of you might think it’s a small deal, since it’s just a couple of hours, but for someone like me who uses the month and date in the permalink structure, it means I might run the risk of actually posting into the day before when I’m editing my post. Anyway, I’m looking around the internet for ways to solve this problem. Another reason why my permalinks might change is that I’m correcting some posts slugs which I feel is incorrect.
Other minor changes I’m going to be making is small aesthetics changes.
Anyway, this is just a heads up to you all. I’m going to do some serious cleaning up and tidying up of my blog.
P.S. If you guys find any error when trying to posts comments or whenever, please send an email to ddkoh92@gmail.com. It would be much appreciated. Thanks

Nuffnang is Asia’s first blog advertising community. Nuffnang was launched in February 2007 by Timothy Tiah and Cheo Ming Shen. Here are just some information and thoughts that I think would be useful for you guys who are thinking of joining Nuffnang.
OK. So I’ve been a member of Nuffnang for like about 20 days, and so far my current earnings is RM0.25 which I got from one CPC advertisement campaign by Digi. I haven’t gotten any cost per unique visitor advertisement campaigns yet though. Yea I know, compared to many bloggers out there, my blog’s traffic is nothing and I earn peanuts. Hey, but for me it’s a start
Nuffnang provides basic analytics information on traffic to your site, however, if you’re a stat junkie like me, the traffic information provided is TOOOO little. But hey, it’s still better than nothing, because at least they do tell you things like keywords your visitors used to find your site and what countries they come from. As you can see below, the stats aren’t real time as the statistics for today are delayed by an hour. On the bottom left corner you should be able to see some stars. Those stars are an indicator of how well your advertisements perform in an advertisement campaign based on click through ratio (CTR). I have 3 stars, pretty good
.
Below is a picture of the control panel. When you click the more button (the small green one) the control panel flips over to reveal a few more options such as adding a blog, your polls and adding advertisements. The yellow band thingy you see is the Happy-O-Meter option which is supposedly to be used in a certain type of advertisement campaign. However, if you haven’t received a campaign that uses it, you still can post the Happy-O-Meter on your blog, just that you won’t earn anything from it.
Anyway, below are some information I believe you should know about Nuffnang.
The Glitterati program is Nuffnang’s loyalty program which rewards bloggers loyalty to Nuffnang. Glitterati is a status given to exclusive Nuffnang bloggers. An exclusive nuffnang blogger here means a blogger that has no advertisements from any other advertisement network that originates from South East Asia on his blog. To be come a Glitterati Nuffnang member, you just have to wait for about 48 hours or until the the Nuffnang crawlers crawl your page and determine whether you have any other advertisement from advertisement networks originating from South East Asia, if you don’t have, then you automatically become a Glitterati member.
Here are some benefits of being a Glitterati member:
With this kind of benefits, I have decided to only show Nuffnang advertisements on my blog and stop experimenting with Advertlets advertisements on my blog so that I can remain a Glitterati member. Anyway, even if they din’t have a loyalty program, I would still be showing Nuffnang advertisements as their advertisement campaigns have earned me a significantly higher amount of money than Advertlets normal CPM advertisements. For your information, Advertlets has launched it’s own loyalty program called TITAN, and so in the future I just might defect to Adverlets. Hehe.
Well, if you’re from Malaysia, you get paid in Ringgit, and if you’re from Singapore, you get paid in Dollars. The minimum payout is either 50 Dollars or 50 Ringgit. You have to pay 1 Dollar or Ringgit transaction fee when you cashout. Nuffnang also has widget ads and polls for you to make use of on your blog. Look, I have a poll from Nuffnang on my sidebar, click on it to see how it works. Hehe.
This is Nuffnang guys. If you want to find out more, here is its homepage.

I just got accepted into the Pepperjam Network which is some affiliate marketing network today, and I must say that it is looking rather impressive at the moment. Admittedly I’m like really really new to this whole concept of affiliate marketing, but from playing around with Pepperjam Network, I think I’m slowly getting the hang of it and hope to be able to make it a stable income stream sometime in the future.
Anyway I just wanted to give my readers a heads up that Pepperjam Network is having some sort of incentive for you to sign up through me, that is if you sign up with Pepperjam Network through me and get accepted, you’ll get $10 from Pepperjam Network.
As quoted from their blog:
$10 New Publisher Sign-Up Bonus - To assist you with recruiting new publishers to Pepperjam Network we are going to allow you to provide them with a $10 Sign-Up Bonus. This means that any new publisher that you refer will be eligible for a $10 bonus just for signing-up for Pepperjam Network. Keep in mind, in order for your referrals to get the sign-up bonus they must become an approved PJN publisher, not have an existing PJN account (spamming will not be tolerated*), and click-through one of the special “$10 Bonus” banners or text links provided to you within the generate links section of the PJN Publisher Referral Program. Referrals sent in from any links other than the special PJN $10 Bonus banners or text links will not be given the bonus.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up now! If you’re already really familiar with the whole affiliate marketing industry, then you would find Pepperjam Network extremely helpful, and if you’re new and unfamiliar (like me
), just sign up and you’ll learn a lot on the way.
Join Pepperjam Network and Receive a $10 Sign On Bonus
Either use the banner above or the textlink above. Remember, you use the banner or the text-link as they are special “$10 Bonus” URL’s. I signed up through somebody’s site, but he din’t use the proper URL so I din’t get my $10
Oh well, I do hope you guys get yours.
Cheers

Note: The cheapest price you can get the StarHub GREEN Top-Up card is $14.50 at the in-Touch Teleshop at Blk 631 Ang Mo Kia Ave. Credit goes to Amelia. I haven’t checked this out yet, but I will the next time I go down to Ang Mo Kia.
I don’t know how much do you Singaporeans get your StarHub GREEN top-up card for, but now I get mine for $15.30. If you’re new to Singapore and using StarHub GREEN prepaid, the worse place you can buy your top-up card is at 7-Eleven or at those 24-hours open shops as they charge you $18.00 for an $18 value top-up card. If you buy from smaller general shops, you can easily get the $18 value top-up card for $15.50. Take this advice from someone who has been living here for half a year
OK. $15.50 still isn’t $15.30, but here’s the story:
I used to think that $15.50 for the StarHub GREEN top-up card was the cheapest price I could get it for until yesterday. I needed credit and I went to a shop I usually bought my top-up card from. Well, it was a Sunday and the shop was close. Oh well, I was thinking of walking 10 minutes away to another shop where I usually bought my top-up card for $15.50, when I suddenly remembered there was another general shop close by. At that time I wasn’t sure whether it sold top-up card but since it was so close by I decided to take the risk, and the risk paid off
. The shop was ran by an Indian guy, and the first thing that I saw was this sign reading “StarHub Top-Up Card : $15.30”. Haha. Taking risk does pay off.
I know that $0.20 isn’t much to any of you, but if you’re a student in a foreign country, it’s always the pennies that decide whether you are able to survive with the money that the scholarship gives you and whether you need to ask your parents for more money
.
Oh, I forgot to tell you the place. The place where I bought the $15.30 Top-Up card is near the bus stop opposite the ACS (I) Boarding School, which is somewhere in Dover, one bus stop down from the bus stop opposite the International World College.
Yea, I know the words are a bit small, so if you need more clarification, please comment here.
