Some of you may or may not know this, but I’m studying currently studying for my O’ levels in Singapore on a school-based scholarship. With me living and studying in Singapore now for quite a long time (my scholarship is 4 years), I think it would be prudent if I created a new “Singapore” category on my blog.
In this “Singapore” category, I’ll post everything and anything somewhat related to Singapore, such as contests, news, happenings in Singapore and much much more
. I know “Singapore” is a very broad category, but I decided that I need to have some broad categories so that I decide more easily which category a posts belongs in.
And with this post, the “Singapore” category is now considered open. Enjoy

Advertlets, “Asia’s better blog advertising network”, or so it says has just launched the Titan widget. Adverlets is the 2nd blog advertising network in South East Asia and faces stiff competition from Nuffnang to gain the approval and business of bloggers in the region, and so far Advertlets is matching Nuffnang for every moves and new launches it makes. Nuffnang recently just unveiled it’s Happy-O-Meter widget a few days ago, and now Advertlets is launching it’s Titan widget. Good one Adverlets
.
The Titan widget is limited to Advertlets Titan members, a membership which is very much like the Gliteratti membership in Nuffnang which is open to bloggers who have no other advertisements from advertising networks originating from South East Asia. This exclusive membership from these 2 blog advertising networks gives certain privileges to members which other non-members do not have, such as increased earnings and so on.
The Titan widget will mostly feature Advertlets bloggers and also news on Advertlets recent events, post event pictures, contests and more. Besides that, sponsors can also have their content included into the widget as well. The Titan widget is expected to provide more traffic and audience to Advertlets Titan members.
As most of you guys may have noticed, I recently have been jumping between using Advertlets and Nuffnang advertisements on my blog. After a couple of weeks of testing, I finally decided that I should use Nuffnang on this blog, while I use Advertlets on other smaller blogs of mine. The reason is that while I found that being a Gliteratti member in Nuffnang could earn me more money on this blog than Advertlets could. However with this new new Titan widget, I would seriously consider whether I should switch my loyalties back to Adverlets again. Hehe. Oh well, as since to apply for Titan membership in Advertlets you need to have been a member with Advertlets for at least 3 months, I have some serious time to think too

Here’s a short review of Aviary with the instructions on how to get invites from me at the end
I recently received an invitation from Aviary, which is currently invite-only, to sign up. Currently my account has only been granted access to Phoenix, a web-based image editor and Peacock, a pattern generator, but from playing around with this 2 tools, I honestly believe that Aviary has something big going on here.
Aviary is a rich suite of internet applications geared for artist and designers from all genres. From image editing to typography to 3D to video and even a digital content marketplace, they have a tool for nearly everything. Aviary is trying to create a complex ecosystem for artists and designers by providing everything they need, right up from creating and designing it to selling it in their marketplace.
All of the tools in Aviary runs in an internet browser or as downloadable AIR applications.
Out of the 2 tools which I had been granted access to, I have used Phoenix more and am really impressed with what the Aviary team here managed to do. Phoenix has nearly everything you would expect a full-fledged desktop-base image editor to have, the only difference is that Phoenix is web-based and runs in your internet browser.
Within minutes and without any tutorials or needing to refer to any help manual, I came up with a simple design. You can import images into Phoenix to edit it, and then after that save it back into your computer in the few more popular file formats. As Phoenix is boasts nearly the same amount of features as other full-fledge image editing program, one can do many things with Phoenix after getting to know it well. I have seen some really spectacular images that other users have managed to create through Phoenix alone.
There are still a bit of bugs here and there but I’m sure that those things can be iron out fairly soon, and once it’s done, Aviary will be an indispensable tool for all artists and designers.
I have a couple of invitations with me and have decided to give it away to readers who want to sign up. I have very few invitations with me now, so it’s a first come first serve basis. As usual, post a comment with you email address and state the reasons you want this invitation.
Enjoy
