Wordpress Version 2.6.3 Has Been Released A Few Short Days Ago

A few days ago Wordpress was upgraded to the newest version yet – version 2.6.3. The reason for this update is because of a very minor vulnerability in the Snoopy library which Worpdress uses to fetch the feeds shown in the Dashboard of the Wordpress admin page.

The people over at Wordpress were quite thoughtful to give us 2 ways to upgrade Wordpress, one involves the traditional method of downloading the whole of the new Wordpress, while the other one just requires us to copy over 2 files to the old Wordpress 2.6.2 installation. Don’t you agree it’s much easier to do?

WebHostingBuzz - The New Web Host For Drett

I recently changed my web host for Drett to Web Hosting Buzz a few weeks ago as my old plan at another web host was expiring. Although my new plan is slightly more expensive than my old plan, it offers so much more and thus enables me to start thinking about running more sites on my current plan.

During the period of transition you might have experienced some downtime, ranging from a couple of hours to 2 days. I’m really sorry about what happened, but many things played a part in it such as the internet not working properly just as I had changed my DNS for my domain name and I could not upload to required files to my new host.

My new plan is relatively cheap at only 3.95/month and gives me unlimited addon domains, unlimited subdomains, unlimited domain parking, unlimited FTP accounts and unlimited MYSQL databases whilst providing me with 375Gb of disk space and 5000Gb of bandwidth. I have never found a web host as cheap as this that gives me the option of unlimited addon domains and unlimited MYSQL, so to me this was a really good bargain.

Their uptime so far has been really good, the only time my server went down was for an emergency maintenance which they informed us within minutes of it happening. Their support has been pretty good too, answering my pre-sale and technical support information.

I highly recommend Web Hosting Buzz to any one who is in need of a new web host as so far this host has been spectacular for me performed better than I expected .

September 2008 Income Report

The month of September 2008 has just pass us not long ago, and I think it’s time time for my monthly income reports. This month has been a pretty good month for – it was the month I broke pass the $50 barrier and earned me $65.50.

September 2008 Income Report:

Private deals: $64.50
Designing work: $1
Total: $65.50

My income was partially inflated as a couple of people bought long term advertisement and sponsorship opportunities, some even opting for a 1 year deal. The $1 from designing work you see was actually part of an experiment of mine where I designed an advertisement for a client but just charged him $1 as at that time I didn’t know the actual going rate that other designers charge.

I don’t think next much I’ll be able to bring in this much money though, as next month is the month in which I have my year-end exams. Around that time I won’t have anytime to update Drett, but I promise after my exams I’ll start posting more regularly .

Every journey starts with the first few steps, and I have just made my first few steps in my journey.
